Lady Rebels Finish 16th At LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. - Ole Miss freshman Dori Carter turned in a 3-over-par 75 for the second-straight day to lead Ole Miss to a 16th place finish at the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic on Sunday afternoon. Carter posted a 76-75-75--226 for the tournament, tying for 24th place.
"Dori showed that consistent play we are looking for," said Ole Miss head coach Megham Bolger. "She led us all three days and played some solid golf. We need more players to play with that type of consistency to get us the team finish we are searching for."
Ole Miss finished in 16th place in the team standings after firing a score of 320-309-308--937. Auburn took the team title with a 297-289-287--873 and wass followed the host Lady Tigers who in second place with a 298-290-287--875. Vanderbilt finished in third place on Sunday after posting a 307-292-279--878.
Junior Katie Davidson tied for 52nd place, firing a 80-75-77--232. Freshman Rachel Ingram was next for Ole Miss. Ingram finished in a tie for 74th place with her 85-76-78--239. Sophomore Katherine Jones and senior Laura Evans rounded out the scoring for Ole Miss. Jones finished in 92nd place with her 79-85-82--246, while Evans was in 93rd with her 88-83-78--249.
Jacqui Concolino of Vanderbilt finished in first place with a 75-68-67--210. Melissa Eaton of LSU took second place by posting a score of 73-66-72--211. Nicole Hage of Auburn was the third place finisher with her mark of 76-69-68--213
Ole Miss will return to action on Saturday, March 11 when they tee off at the Sun Trust Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
