ATHENS, Ga. - Ole Miss shortstop Lisa Conchos has been named to the Freshman All-Southeastern Conference team, as the league awards were announced Wednesday evening at the SEC Tournament in Athens, Ga.

The Phoenix, Ariz., native finished the regular season ranked second on the team in batting with a .295 average, first with 10 doubles and second with 18 RBI and 22 runs scored. She was one of the hardest batters to strike out in the SEC, with just 11 K's in 173 at-bats.

In league play, Conchos led the Rebels with five doubles and was second with eight runs scored and 29 total bases. She struck out just five times in 87 at-bats against conference foes.

Conchos is the second straight Rebel shortstop to earn Freshman All-SEC accolades after Chloe Kloezeman, who transferred to California, earned the honors last season.

Ole Miss takes on top-seeded Alabama in its first-round SEC Tournament matchup at 2:30 p.m. EST on Thursday. This is Ole Miss' first-ever trip to the conference tourney.
