Eight Rebels Head To USA Track Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - Eight Ole Miss track and field athletes head to the USA Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis beginning on Wednesday. The five day event held at the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium on the campus on Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis features the top track and field athletes from around the country.

Competing in the Junior Championships, which features athlete ages 19-and-under, will be Lindsay Doucett (800 meters), Kadeshia Fortune (100 meters), Ray Jadusingh (100 and 200 meters), Marlee Kevech (javelin) and Rodney Lockhart (400 meters).

Representing Ole Miss in the Outdoor Championships are, Marquita Aldridge (long jump), Chris Lawson (100 and 200 meters) and John Yarbrough (110-meter hurdles). Also running in the 110-meter hurdles will be former Ole Miss All-America and two-time national champion Antwon Hicks.

The athletes will be competing for a spot on the USA Teams, including the prestigious World Cup Team.

The USA Outdoor Championships will be televised on ESPN2 on Saturday, June 24 from 5-7 p.m., and from 4-6 p.m. on ESPN2 on Sunday, June 25 (all times Central).
