OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss senior guard Armintie Price was recognized by the Associated Press on Wednesday. Price was named a third team All-America by the collection of national writers a day after her team was eliminated from the 2007 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship.

Price, who guided her Ole Miss to its first Elite Eight appearance since 1992, led the Rebels in scoring (19.1), rebounding (8.8) assists (4.7) and steals (3.7). She was the NCAA leader in steals per game and became just the second player in NCAA history to record over 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists and 400 steals in a career joining Cheryl Miller.

Price turned in 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.3 steals per game in the NCAA Tournament, propelling the Rebels to wins over TCU, defending national champion Maryland and Big 12 Conference champion Oklahoma on their way to the Elite Eight.

Sophomores Candace Parker of Tennessee and Courtney Paris of Oklahoma joined seniors Ivory Latta of North Carolina, Jessica Davenport of Ohio State and Lindsey Harding of Duke as the five-member All-America first team.

Parker and Latta were repeat first team members with Parker being tabbed first on 49 of the 50 ballots from the national media panel that votes in the weekly Top 25, receiving 248 points. The voting was done before the start of the NCAA tournament.

Maryland's Crystal Langhorne led a trio of juniors on the second team, along with Stanford's Candice Wiggins and LSU's Sylvia Fowles. Middle Tennessee senior Chrissy Givens and Louisville sophomore Angel McCoughtry rounded out the second team.

Joining Price on the third team were Purdue's Katie Gearlds, North Carolina's Erlana Larkins, Duke's Alison Bales and Georgia's Tasha Humphrey.

The preseason All-America team was Paris, Parker, Latta, Wiggins and Langhorne.

Joining Paris and Latta on last year's first team was Seimone Augustus of LSU a unanimous selection, Cappie Pondexter of Rutgers and Sophia Young of Baylor.
