Reese Advances To World Championships

INDANAPOLIS,
Reese, the SEC indoor and outdoor long jump champion, was the top collegiate finisher with a mark of 21-10.75. She finished second to professional Grace Upshaw who turned in a mark of 22-01.00.

Reese is the reigning SEC Field Athlete of the Year. She finished second in the long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June, picking up her second All-America honor of the Year. She also placed third in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships. She was also honored as the NCAA Division I South Region's Women's Indoor Field Co-Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In the men’s 110-meter hurdles All-American John Yarbrough finished 11th in the prelims to advance to tomorrow’s semifinals. Yarbrough posted a time of 13.69 to advance. Also advancing to the semifinals was former Ole Miss national champion Antwon Hicks who finished fifth in a time of 13.49.
