Kyle Ellis Cards 72 In Third Round At Sunnehanna Amateur

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. Ole Miss men’s golfer Kyle Ellis shot a 2-over 72 in the third round of the 54th annual Sunnehanna Amateur Saturday at the Sunnehanna Country Club and is tied for 10th heading into the final round Sunday.

 

Ellis carded four birdies, but had six bogeys on the day, including one on the final hole.  The 2006 Mississippi Amateur Champion stands at even-par for the tournament and is just two strokes back of the top five, where he began the day.

 

The 2006 Mississippi Amateur Champion is battling 71 of the nation’s top amateur golfers this weekend. 

 

The Sunnehanna Amateur was established in 1954 and boasts an impressive list of past champions, including PGA Tour veterans Lucas Glover, Allen Doyle, Billy Andrade, Scott Verplank, Brad Faxon, John Cook and Ben Crenshaw.

Ellis will tee off in the final round beginning at 8:20 a.m. CT.
