Vote for Ole Miss Cheerleader in National Contest

9/5/2007 | Athletics

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Ole Miss cheerleader Annie Williams has been chosen to represent the Southeastern Conference in the Athlon Sports 2007 Sideline Spirit Contest.

Voting for round one continues though Sept. 21 at www.athlonsports.com/spirit. No registration is necessary to vote and there is no limit to the number of times a person can vote.

Athlon’s Sideline Spirit Contest is entering its fifth year and features at least 32 spirit contestants from across the country. The competition runs from the beginning of the college football season in September until the national championship game in January.

The program is broken into four rounds, featuring seven cheerleaders or dancers in each round (one from each BCS conference and one non-BCS representative). At the conclusion of the regular season, spirit contestants will advance to our championship round, which is held during the bowl season.

Contestants can advance to the championship round by either receiving the most votes in her round or getting the most votes in her conference. The overall winner will be featured in the 2008 Athlon Sports College Football annuals, and her squad will receive $1,000, two JVC Camcorders, a 42-inch LCD JVC television and a JVC Portable Kaboom Box.
