OXFORD, Miss. After posting three straight wins away from home, the Ole Miss women’s basketball team makes its home debut Friday night at 6 p.m. when the Rebels welcome rival Memphis to Tad Smith Coliseum.

The Rebels, who will be playing their fourth game in seven days, improved to 3-0 on the season Wednesday night after securing a 74-48 road win over Louisiana-Lafayette. With the game tied 21-21 with just over six minutes remaining in the first half, Ole Miss used a 17-0 run to break the game wide open and never looked back. Ole Miss is now 111-0 all-time when holding its opponent to 50 points or less.

Junior guard Bianca Thomas continues to pace the Rebels on the offensive end as she averages 11.7 points per game to go along with 4.3 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Alliesha Easley also averages in double figures as she scores 10.3 points per game. Junior Tori Slusher leads the team by pulling down 5.7 rebounds per game.

Defensively, Ole Miss hasn’t allowed any of its opponents to score more than 64 points in any of the first three games. The Rebels rank fifth in the SEC in field goal percentage defense (.326) and first in three-point field goal defense (.156). Ole Miss has only allowed its opponents to convert on 7-of-45 three-pointers.

Memphis (2-1) enters Friday’s game following a 67-60 victory over Louisiana Tech. Senior forward Ashley Thornton leads the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding as she averages a double-double with 13.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Senior guard Paris Leonard averages 12.3 points per game and is the only other Tiger to score in double figures.

Ole Miss owns a 30-12 record in the all-time series with Memphis that dates back to the 1974-75 season. The two teams, however, have not met on the hardwood since the 2005-06 season. In addition, the Rebels are 19-1 all-time against Memphis in games played in Oxford. The only win for the Tigers inside Tad Smith Coliseum came in the form of a 72-69 victory during the 1977-78 season. The Rebels have beaten Memphis 16 straight times at the Tad Pad, and are 31-3 all-time in home openers.
