With the season rapidly coming to an end, this weekend will be one of the most important in determining whether or not we get an NCAA bid. But that's not our only goal, as we also have our eye on that SEC West title. We are only one game behind LSU and if we win this weekend it puts us in a really good position to win the West.
With injuries plaguing our team once more, we have really shown what our team is made of. Our whole philosophy for the season has been to have our teammates' back, whether that meant covering a ball that's been hit into the block or being able to adapt to new positions, we strive to be each others biggest supporters. I think that because of this philosophy is how we have been so successful.
This weekend we play Kentucky and Tennessee. The last time we played them we lost each game, but now that we have them at home, we are confident that we will be able to come out this weekend with two wins. We play at 7 p.m. on Friday so make sure you're there to cheer us on! Until next time ...

So a lot has happened in the past couple weeks. The most exciting I think so far is the weekend we played South Carolina and Georgia at home. We ended South Carolina's 10 game winning streak and competed very well against a ranked Florida team. It was so exciting to see our team get better that weekend.
This past weekend was only half exciting to me. At LSU, we had a hard time getting started at all, so it was pretty frustrating not being able to compete with a team that we feel we had a chance against. Caitlin Weiss was also injured that game, so that made things a little more hectic.
But then the exciting half of the weekend came when we arrived in Athens and swept Georgia. We were playing girls in new positions to compensate for Weiss being out (I played back row- yikes!), but it didn't phase us at all. After the loss we had at LSU, we were determined to redeem ourselves and everyone stepped up and took care of business. I couldn't be any happier for my teammates .
This week we are hitting practice hard getting ready for two HUGE matches this weekend. Mississippi State has given us trouble in the past so Friday's game will be pretty intense. Once again we can't wait to play at home with our fans supporting us and tearing our opponents up. Until next time ...

So, I started to write this blog earlier this week, but I couldn't quite figure out what I wanted to let the fans know about our team this year. At first I wrote about how we are a different team with all new players and how exciting that was, but that didn't work too well. Then I wanted to write about the strides that our program has made since my class first got here, but that didn't work either. It wasn't until today at practice that I realized what I wanted to let you guys know about. So here it goes.
We are so excited to finally get to play at home in front of our fans again! As soon as I got to the gym today for practice, our bleachers were all set up, they were hanging up pictures in our front lobby, everyone was preparing the Gillom Center for our big weekend. I think all of that got everyone on the team pumped up and ready to play this weekend. We had a rough first two weeks on the road, but being able to come back home and play here in front of all our friends and family has us prepared for a great weekend.
This weekend we play Eastern Illinois, Georgia Tech, and SMU. We are really excited to play Georgia Tech, because it's always a great game between the two of us, and we are ready for some revenge this time. So, if you get a chance to make it to a game this weekend, be ready for all the excitement at the Gillom center. It's going to be a great weekend!
