The Lady Rebels opened up the year with a disappointing 18th-place finish at the Cougar Classic, but rebounded for a ninth-place (of 18) showing at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. The team concluded the fall with an 11th-place (of 18) finish at the UA Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate.
“Each day, week and tournament we saw improvement in our preparation, and as a result we ended the fall with a nice finish at the UA Ann Rhoads which gave us even more motivation for our spring season,” Drinkard said.

Sophomore Sara Grantham played in all four tournaments in the fall and led the team in qualifying for the Lady Gator Invitational. She has competed in every tournament in her career. Last season, Grantham finished second on the team in stroke average and recorded two top-10 finishes. She was the highest finisher in three of the Lady Rebels’ tournaments.
JILL BRODD Freshman *
Freshman Jill Brodd played in all four tournaments in her first semester at Ole Miss and is second on the team in stroke average. She shot a season best 73 at the UA Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate and finished tied for 25th with a 226. Brodd, who hails from
“Jill may be quiet in her demeanor, but she is a very steady competitor” Drinkard said. “She is a great listener and has absorbed information like a sponge and has been able to apply her newly found knowledge to her game. Look for Jill to continue her tireless preparation and keep improving this spring and maturing into a great college golfer.”
DORI CARTER Junior *
Junior Dori Carter played in all four tournaments in the fall and led the team in stroke average with a 74.00. She posted two top-five, two top-10 and four top-20 finishes. Carter tied for fourth at the Cougar Classic with a career low 54-hole tournament score of 72-72-71215. In 2006-07, Carter was the leading finisher in eight of the Lady Rebels’ 11 tournaments and led the team in stroke average.
“Dori has set some lofty goals for herself and has stepped up her preparation to reach her goals, and it is showing in her scoring average,” Drinkard said. “She is a very passionate leader and realizes we all have a common goal, but as a predominately individual sport that it takes all of us stepping up to reach our common vision. Dori does a great job in communicating and reaching out to her teammates sharing her knowledge and motivating them to keep pursuing their personal goals to lift us to our team goals.”
RACHEL INGRAM Junior *
Junior Rachel Ingram participated in all four tournaments in the fall and shot a season-low 75 at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. Ingram competed in two tournaments as a sophomore and nine as a freshman. During her freshman season, she shot a personal-best 74 in the first round of the SEC/ACC Challenge. She also carded her highest finish (14th) as a Lady Rebel.
KATHERINE JONES Senior * Jackson, Miss.
Katherine Jones is the lone senior on the team this year. She competed in all four tournaments in the fall. Jones owns the only hole-in-one in Lady Rebel golf history, recording the feat on the third hole of the second round at the 2006 Jeannine McHaney Intercollegiate. An all-around student-athlete, Jones is the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. This past fall she led Ole Miss’ participation in the SECs “Together We Can” canned food drive. Ole Miss raised approximately 4,500 tons of food for the drive.
“Every first year coach needs a Katherine Jones providing senior leadership to the team as well as her coach,” Drinkard said. Katherine is really active in sharing her knowledge and experiences that have inspired her to be successful at Ole Miss. As our SAAC President she has kept us involved in campus wide programs that help our community and our student athletes. She is truly a blessing to have around.”
