Former Rebel Golfer Shoots 72 In PGA Debut

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Former Ole Miss men’s golfer Chris Rogers, shot a 2-over-par 72 in his PGA debut during the first round of the Stanford St. Jude Championship in Memphis Thursday.

 

The Franklin, Tenn., native recorded three birdies, three bogeys and one double-bogey on the 7,239-yard TPC at Southwind Golf Course.

Rogers was 1 under after 11 holes before double-bogeying No. 12 and bogeying No. 18. He is seven shots behind Boo Weekley, who shot a 5-under 65.

 

Rogers will tee off in the second round Friday at 1:39 p.m. from the 10th tee.
