Cross Country Teams Finish Third At SEC Pre-Meet

STARKVILLE, Miss. Fueled by a pair of top-10 individual finishes, the Ole Miss cross country teams both turned in third place finishes Saturday morning at the SEC Pre-Meet hosted by Mississippi State.
Senior Kyle Lewis was the top finisher for the Rebels as he raced to a second place finish in the men's 8k run with a time of 25:00.20. Junior Gabriel Ngwiri narrowly missed a top-10 finish as he took 11th place with a time of 26:14.60.
Junior Chad Berry picked up an 18th place finish with a time of 27:05.20, while freshman Josh Porter posted a time of 29:16.09 en route to a 30th place finish. Next in line, sophomore Alejandro Quintana was 31st with a time of 29:55.59.
On the women's side, freshman Logan Waites earned a sixth place finish with a time of 19:34.54 in the 5k race. Not far behind, sophomore Julie Little recorded an 11th place finish with her time of 20:03.04.
Sophomore Allison Kneip picked up a 16th place finish with her time of 20:39.37, while junior Anna Adams finished 18th with a time of 20:41.76.
Senior Lindsay Doucett posted a time of 21:41.76 on her way to a 27th place finish, while freshman Jamie McCulloch rounded out the Rebel runners with a 29th place finish and a time of 21:58.07.
Ole Miss returns to action Oct. 4 when the Rebels travel to Louisville, Ky., to take part in the Greater Louisville Classic.
