Rebel Cross Country Takes Part In NCAA Pre-Nationals

Junior Barnabas Kirui finished first for the men's team for the fourth straight meet of the season, posting a ninth place finish Saturday in the 8k race with a time of 23:55.50. Senior Gabriel Ngwiri finished in second place for the Rebels after crossing the finish line in a time of 25:33.00.
Freshman Riley Young took third for Ole Miss with a time of 28:05.01, while senior Jordan Michael followed and was forth the Rebels with his time of 29:32.00.
Alejandro Quintana posted a fifth place finish for the Rebels following his time of 30:08.30, and freshman Jack Hammond was next in sixth with a mark of 30:32.00. Sophomore Erik Solberg rounded out the Rebel runners and finished with a time of 30:59.20.
On the women's side, the Rebels were without two of their top runners as both Logan Waites and Anne Threlkeld were unable to participate due to illness. Junior Julie Little led the pack for the women's team and finished in a time of 24:07.30 in the 6k race.
Junior Allison Kneip took second for Ole Miss after racing to a time of 24:26.30. Anna Adams was next for the Rebels with a time of 24:40.20, while freshman Ella Gentry followed with a time of 27:28.30. Sophomore Jamie McCulloch took fifth for Ole Miss following a time of 27:36.00.
Ole Miss returns to action Oct. 31 when the Rebels host the SEC Cross Country Championships from the Ole Miss Golf Course.
