Rebel Golfers Tied For Fifth At David Toms

BATON ROUGE, La. -- With three players in the top 15, the Ole Miss men's golf team shot a 286-280--566 on the first day of the David Toms Intercollegiate and sits in a tie for fifth heading into Tuesday's final round at the Country Club of Louisiana.
Sophomore Billy Brozovich is tied for eighth with a 69-70--139. Joe David shot 74 in the first round and then came back strong with a 5-under 66 in the second round and is tied for 12th. He carded six birdies in the second round.
Junior Jonathan Randolph started out strong with a 4-under 67 that included eight birdies. In fact, he was 6-under heading into his last hole (No. 8), but he double-bogeyed for the 67. In the second round, Randolph shot 73 and is tied for 12th.
Freshman Tom Brown started with a 76, but rallied for an even par 72 in the second round.
Host LSU shot a blistering 11-under 273 in the second round to take the lead over Kent State (561) by three. Southeastern Louisiana is in third at 564, and North Florida is fourth at 565. Ole Miss is tied with Pepperdine. LSU's John Peterson shot consecutive 66s to take the individual lead at 132.
