Ole Miss Conducting Shoe Drive This Weekend

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss student-athletes will be collecting shoes for underpriviled Kenyans this weekend at the Rebels' home soccer matches Friday and Sunday and the SEC Cross Country Championships Saturday in Oxford.
Fans are asked to donate gently used running shoes, cleats and spikes for "Rebel Reruns," which assists those less fortunate in Kenya. Visiting SEC student-athletes have also been asked to bring shoes to the cross country meet.
The Rebel soccer team hosts Mississippi State Friday at 7 p.m. and Alabama Sunday at 1 p.m., while Ole Miss and Oxford plays host to the SEC Cross Country Championships Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Ole Miss Golf Course.
The Ole Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Council established the "Rebel Reruns" service project in 2008, and with the help of the fans, Ole Miss athletes and visiting teams, SAAC was able to send 18 cases of shoes to Kenya in December 2008.
