3/22/2009 | Softball
Nye held the Tide scoreless for the first four innings, but
Morgan added a two-run double in the top of the seventh to extend the Tide’s lead to 3-0.
“We played better today,” said Ole Miss head coach Missy Dickerson. “The girls showed a lot of competitive spirit to play like they did today after how we played yesterday.”
Tide starting pitcher Kelsi Dunne limited the Rebels to only one hit a fifth inning single by designated player Michelle May.
Nye took the loss for the Rebels after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing three runs on five hits. She also struck out two Crimson Tide batters.
Next up, Ole Miss will host the LSU Tigers on Tuesday for a double header at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The first game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
