Rebel Golf Leads After Day One At Seminole Intercollegiate

David posted seven birdies on his round to lead the Rebels. Fellow freshman Sean Dale rebounded to finish with a 1-under 71 and is tied for seventh. Senior Stefan Strandlund closed with consecutive birdies to post an even par 72 and is tied for 10th. “It is nice to have the lead in any tournament, but I felt we could have played better as a team,” head coach Ernest Ross said. “Obviously I am very pleased for Joe. He shot 5-under and is now 9-under for his last two rounds dating back to last week in “We were tied for the lead after one round here last year, but we didn’t finish well. Our players know we are a long way from this tournament being over. We will have a little fire in our eyes tomorrow when we tee off, and hope to avoid the big head.’” The Rebels will tee off the second round beginning at Noon CT Saturday.
