BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss senior football player Jason Cook and senior soccer player Jennifer Hance have received $3,000 post-graduate scholarships from the Southeastern Conference for being named recipients of the Brad Davis SEC Community Service Award, Commissioner Mike Slive announced Friday.

A four-year starter at fullback for the Rebels, Cook has been actively involved in the Oxford and Ole Miss community since arriving in 2005. The Suwanee, Ga., native has worked with several projects, including "Toys for Tots," the "We CAN Drive," sponsored by the SEC, "Reading with the Rebels," the Oxford Pantry Food Drive and National Student-Athlete Day. He also coordinates the Fellowship of Christian Athletes program for Ole Miss student-athletes, visits local senior citizens at extended care centers in Oxford and visits patients at North Mississippi Regional Center. He was honored on the AFCA and SEC Good Works Teams in 2007.

Hance was a three-time All-SEC selection and one of Ole Miss' all-time leading scorers on the soccer field, but her work in the community has been equally as impressive. The Sugar Land, Texas, native has helped lead the Spring Service Project with local elementary students and the SEC Canned Food Drive. She is a regular participant in "Reading with the Rebels," the Big Brother/Big Sister program and volunteer coaching in basketball and soccer. She is also heavily involved in organizing events with FCA and the Ole Miss Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She was named to the SEC Soccer Community Service Team in 2008.

University of South Carolina basketball player Brionna Dickerson and Auburn University basketball player Andrew Smith are the 2008-2009 Brad Davis SEC Community Service Leaders of the Year, earning scholarships of $6,000 each.
