OXFORD, Miss. - After hitting four home runs last week, including two game winners, Ole Miss junior Lauren Grill was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Grill, who earned first team All-America honors last season, batted .500 on the week with four homers and nine RBI. She collected six hits and five walks on the week for a .647 on-base percentage and slugged an astonishing 1.583, as she total 19 bases in four games.

The Tualatin, Ore., native tied a career-high with two home runs, including the game winner in the fifth-inning, in the Rebels’ non-conference victory over Mississippi State on Wednesday.  She also picked up a single and three RBI against the Bulldogs.  She hit the game-winning, three-run shot in the fifth in the win over Kentucky on Saturday and picked up a solo homer and a two-run double against the Wildcats on Sunday.

Grill and the Rebels will continue their eight-game road swing with a trip to Athens, Ga. to face the Georgia Bulldogs in a three-game series beginning on Friday. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m., while Saturday’s series finale will be televised by Fox Sports Net at noon.
