Britton Advances To NCAA Third Round

COLLEGE STATION,
Britton (25-9) broke the Cavalier’s No. 1 player at 3-3 in the first set and held to win 6-4. Inglot, ranked No. 14 in the nation, gained a break in the second to win it 6-3. As he has done several times lately, Britton, ranked No. 30 in the country, got on top in the third set and came away victorious 6-3 to move on and win his 10th straight.
He will face Bruno Rosa in the third round Friday. Rosa upset the No. 8 seed in the opening round and then defeated
The top-seeded doubles duo of Jonas Berg and Bram ten Berge were upset in the first round by Inglot and his partner, Michael Shabaz, in three sets. Neither team was able to break each other in the first set, going to a tiebreaker. Down 3-5 in the breaker, Berg and ten Berge (27-15) won four straight points to capture the opening set 7-6(5).
