NORMAN, Okla. Ole Miss men’s golfers Jonathan Randolph and Joe David were named to the Ping Southeast Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association Monday.  The pair was among 26 golfers on the Southeast Region Team.

“I am very happy for Joe and Jonathan to make the All-Region team,” head coach Ernest Ross.  “Both had very good seasons and have excellent careers ahead of them.  I do believe their best golf is in front of them.  This year was a real confidence-builder for both, although Jonathan got off to a slow start with an injury.  Both players will be among the top players in the nation next season.”

David, who just completed his freshman year with the Rebels, earned All-SEC second team honors and led the team in stroke average with a 72.83.  He posted two top-five and three top-10 finishes on the year.  David ended the year ranked No. 68 in the Golfstat Top 100.

Randolph, a rising junior, also earned a spot in the Golfstat Top 100, finishing No. 67.  He was second on the team in stroke average and posted two top-10 finishes including a team-leading tie for sixth at the NCAA Central Regional.  Randolph captured the Mississippi State Amateur title Sunday.

Both players helped lead the Rebels to a final national ranking of No. 27, the team’s third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and seven top-five finishes on the year.
