Ladner Selects Armintie Price To Complete Coaching Staff

Price’s appointment is pending the approval of the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning. Price will be able to continue to play in the WNBA while coaching the Rebels as the two seasons do not overlap.
“I am very excited to be coming back to Ole Miss as an assistant coach,” Price said. “I always wanted to follow in the footsteps of coach Ross and coach Ladner and return to Ole Miss like they did. I’m glad the opportunity presented itself, and I feel very blessed to be in this position.”
In her third season with the Chicago Sky, Price has appeared in all nine games and has helped the Sky to an early 6-3 record and a second-place standing in the Eastern Conference.
The third overall selection in the 2007 WNBA Draft, she started all 34 games for the Sky that season and finished third among rookies in both scoring (7.9) and assists (2.9) per game en route to her selection as WNBA Rookie of the Year.
She played an integral role in helping the Sky improve from five wins in the franchise's inaugural season of 2006 to 14 wins in 2007. She also helped keep the Sky in the playoff picture until the final week of the regular season.
“We are extremely excited to have Armintie back in the huddle with us,” Ladner said. “She is somebody who has been successful on both the collegiate and professional level, and we feel like she brings a wealth of experience to our program.”

Price currently ranks third all-time at Ole Miss in career points (2,165), second in rebounds (1,198) and first in steals (403).
