Rebel Golfers Headed To Nashville

9/23/2009 | Men's Golf

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team, who has dealt with rain almost every day for at least a week, heads to Franklin, Tenn., this weekend hoping for better weather at the Mason Rudolph Championship.

The 17-team field that will invade the Legends Club includes third-ranked Georgia Tech, 10th-ranked South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Memphis and South Alabama.

Junior Jonathan Randolph leads the Rebel contingent. The Brandon native tied for third at the first tournament (Carpet Capital) of the year and is ranked No. 9 in the latest Golfweek Rankings.

Joining Randolph on the links this weekend will be sophomores Joe David, Billy Brozovich and Chris Mullhaupt and freshman Tom Brown.

"Rain has hampered some of our preparation," head coach Ernest Ross said. "We are working hard to improve some skill areas, mainly putting. We still believe we are a top team, and we will try to prove it this week."

The teams will play on the South Course (formerly Roper's Knob), with a par-71, 7,100-yard layout. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. CT on both Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 a.m., on Sunday, going off both 1 and 10.

Live scoring will be available by going to www.OleMissSports.com and clicking on the link in the Rebel Hub.
