Former Rebel Sarah Sally Passes Away

OXFORD, Miss. - Former Ole Miss women's basketball player Sarah Sally passed away on October 12.

Sally, who played for the Rebels during the 1980-81 season after transferring from Northwest Junior College, was 50 years old.

At Ole Miss, she played for Van Chancellor and appeared in 25 games during the year. Sally averaged 6.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Rebels as the team finished the year 14-12 overall.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sally family," said Ole Miss Executive Associate Athletics Director Lynnette Johnson. "She will be missed by the Ole Miss family."

The funeral was held on Saturday at M.J. Edwards Funeral Home in Memphis.
