This Veteran's Day, Ole Miss salutes veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Their service to our country has made it possible for the student-athletes and fans to take part in the intercollegiate athletic experience, both as participants and spectators. The list below highlights just a few of the many family members of our student-athletes and coaches who have served our country. We hope that you'll take a moment to say thanks to veterans you know so that we can take part in the freedom's that we enjoy today.
Men's Basketball
Andy Kennedy (head coach) - Father was in the Army as a Staff Sergeant for six years and was activated for Bay of Pigs in 1962 on stand-by status.
Michael White (assistant coach) - Father-in-law was in the Navy.
Trevor Gaskins (student-athlete) -Father was in the Army and stationed at Fort Bragg.
Football
Mike Beaumont (director of operations) - Served in the Army as Private First Class ... Father and brother also served in the Army.
Cliff Coleman (student-athlete) - Father served in the Marines.
Kim Dameron (assistant coach) - Father and brother served in the Navy.
Enrique Davis (student-athlete) - Mother served in the Army.
Jared Duke (student-athlete) - Father served in the Navy.
Jesse Grandy (student-athlete) - Sister served in the Air Force and father served in the Army.
Matt Hall (student-athlete) - One grandfather served in the Army and the other in the Navy.
Lekenwic Haynes (student-athlete) - Grandfather served in the Army.
Jason Jones (student-athlete) - Mother served in the Army and father served in the Marines.
Mike Markuson (assistant coach) - Father served in the Navy.
Jeremiah Masoli (student-athlete) - Grandfather served in the Marines.
Derrick Nix and Tyrone Nix (assistant coaches) - Brother served in the Air Force.
Dave Rader (assistant coach) - Son served in the Navy.
Andrew Ritter (student-athlete) - Both grandfathers served in the Navy.
D.T. Shackelford (student-athlete) - Grandfather served in the armed forces.
Josh Tatum (student-athlete) - Grandfather and step-brother served in the Army.
Devin Thomas (student-athlete) - Father was an Army paratrooper.
Allen Walker (student-athlete) - Grandfather served in the Army during WWII ... Two uncles and a cousin served in the Army during Desert Storm.
Julian Whitehead (student-athlete) - Father served in the Air Force.

Ernest Ross (head coach) - Father Donald G. Ross served in the Marines during WWII.
Chad Bounds (student-athlete) - Grandfather Mel Bounds served in the Navy in WWII.
Thomas Watkins (student-athlete) - Grandfather James Melvin Watkins served in the Navy, Grandfather Ronald Willard Wright served in the Air Force.
Women's Golf
Michele Drinkard (head coach) - Grandfather Private First Class Roy Henry Drinkard served in the Marines during WWII and unit served in the Pacific (Iwo Jima).
Janell Howland (assistant coach) - Father Petty Officer 3rd Class Edwin Dale Howland served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
Sara Grantham (student assistant) - Grandfather Staff Sergeant John Thomas Hentz served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Alyssa Randolph (student-athlete) - Grandfather Private First Class Bill York served during WWII, was captured the first 2 weeks of the war and survived as a POW for 3 1/2 years (Bataan Death March) ... Grandfather Corporal Jack Randolph served in the Army during the Korean War.
Christina Miller (student-athlete) - Grandfather Colonel Luther Campbell served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Haley Millsap (student-athlete) - Grandfather Felix Nicholas served in the Air Force.
Jillian Brodd (student-athlete) - Grandfathers Petty Officer 3rd Class Ken Rynes and Lieutenant Robert Brodd served in the Navy during WWII.
Kathryn Fowler (student-athlete) - Grandfather Austin Fowler served in both the Navy (Chief Petty Officer) and the Marines (Corporal) in WWII ... Grandfather Private First Class Mason Markette served in the Army during WWII.
Ashley Lance (student-athlete) - Grandfather Master Sergeant First Class Dewey Lance served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

Emma Holman and Meredith Holman (student-athletes) - Father was in the Navy as an Ensign Officer.
Kelly Rosales (student-athlete) - Father was a Navy Corpsman Third Class.
Soccer
Matthew Mott (head coach) - Served four years in the Coast Guard.
Men's Tennis
Billy Chadwick (head coach) - Father Dr. Charles William Chadwick and Father-in-law Judge Mike Carr both served in the Army during WWII.
Women's Tennis
Connor Vogel (student-athlete) - Grandfather Donald Harper served in the Navy during WWII.
Kristi Boxx (student-athlete) - Grandfather Randolf Ewing served in WWII ... Grandfather Rayford Boxx served in Korean War.
Track and Field
Joe Walker (head coach) - Father was in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Doug Blackwell (associate head coach) - Brothers Bernie Blackwell (Army), Jim Blackwell (Navy) and Sid Blackwell (Navy Seals) and Grandfather Brown Blackwell (Army) served in armed forces.
Baseball
Austin Anderson (student-athlete) - parents Darrin and Christine Anderson both served in the U.S. Army and attended West Point.
Softball
RT Cantillo (student-athlete) - dad served 23 years in the armed forces.
Kelly Nolan (student-athlete) - parents both served in the armed forces.
Rachel Torres (student-athlete) - parent served in the armed forces.
Becca Wall (student-athlete) - dad served in the Navy and brother served in the Marines.

Kara Morgan (student-athlete) - parents Chris and Gina Morgan served in the U.S. Army; Brother Christopher Morgan serves in the U.S. Army.
Amanda Philpot (student-athlete) - brother, Taylor Schiering, serves in the U.S. Army
Brenea White (student-athlete) - parents Reginald and Sharon White, and sister, Regina White, served in the U.S. Navy.
