WEST POINT, N.Y. - Led by personal bests in both the air rifle and smallbore by junior Kim Coffey, the Rebels broke the school team aggregate record for the second time in as many matches as Ole Miss knocked off Army 4642-4639 in West Point on Friday.
The team score of 4642 broke the Rebels' school record of 4637 set just last weekend against Nevada and UTEP. Ole Miss also broke the school smallbore record with a mark of 2311.
Coffey's personal best of 587 paced the Rebels in the air rifle and was followed closely by freshman Alivia Yeager's mark of 585. Fellow freshman Abbey Stanec fired a 582, while Meredith Holman and Keely Stankey both posted a score of 577.
Stankey led Ole Miss in the smallbore with a mark of 581 and was followed closely by Holman's score of 578. Coffey turned in a personal best of 577, while Stanec fired a 575. Freshman Melissa Quartarone closed out the Rebel smallbore line with a mark of 569.
"We keep pushing our limits as a team," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "I'm really proud of how much we have accomplished so far this season. We just have to keep our focus and keep improving."
The Rebels will wrap up the weekend tomorrow when they take on West Virginia in West Point.
