OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Hoover, Ala., for Saturday's NCAA South Regional at Veterans Park.

On the heels of two of their best finishes in school history at the Southeastern Conference Championships, the Rebels are aiming to qualify for the NCAA Championships, which will be held Monday, Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Ind.

The top two team finishers and the top four individuals at the South Regional will qualify for the national championships. The remainder of the national field is determined by a committee based on season performances.

Barnabas Kirui, who won his third career SEC cross country title this year, will lead the way for a Rebel men's team that sits in sixth in the USTFCCCA South Region rankings. He was named the SEC Cross Country Athlete of the Year for the third time and will look to match or improve on his performance at last year's regionals, in which he placed second. He finished fourth at nationals a year ago.

Also running for the men are All-SEC second team selection Martin Kirui, SEC All-Freshman pick Kipchirchir Kiptoo, Max Holman, Loren Newsom and Riley Young.

The Rebel women will be led by junior Logan Waites, who claimed the highest ever SEC Championships finish by an Ole Miss female with her 16th-place effort in Columbia. She has been the top Ole Miss finisher in every race this year.

Saturday's women's race will get underway at 9:45 a.m. CT, with the men's race to follow at 10:45.
