Women's Hoops Teams With Rotary Club, Samaritans Purse

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's basketball team partnered with the Rotary Club and Samaritans Purse to donate time and items to the organizations.
The team and coaching staff shopped for toys and presents at Wal-Mart on Tuesday for the Christmas Store, an organization sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oxford. Each player had 10-12 Christmas wish lists from children in Lafayette County and each player spent time Tuesday night shopping for those items. In total the team shopped for 150 children and bought 300 gifts.
The team also put together 12 boxes of items such as hygiene items, toiletries and small toys for Operation Christmas Child which is sponsored globally by Samaritans Purse. The Oxford community set a goal to collect 3,500 boxes that are shipped to countries all over the world.
