OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss rifle team fired a school record score of 4637 to knock off Nevada-Reno and Texas-El Paso in a dual-match competition on Saturday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center in Oxford.

Senior Meredith Holman paced the Rebels with a season-high of 590 in the air rifle, while freshman Abbey Stanec posted a career best of 588. Kim Coffey and Keely Stankey both recorded an air score of 582 and freshman Alivia Yeager fired a 581.

Stankey led the way for Ole Miss in the smallbore with a score of 577 and Coffey set a personal best with a mark of 573. Freshman Melissa Quartarone also fired a total of 573, while Holman posted a smallbore total of 572. Stanec rounded out the Ole Miss smallbore line with a mark of 570.

Reno and UTEP both finished with a team aggregate of 4611 to finish in a tie.

"I was very proud of the team today," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "This is the day I've been waiting for them to have. This is the team I see in practice and it was good to watch them perform like I know they can. We still have improvements to make and we need focus on that during training."

Next up, Ole Miss will travel to West Point, N.Y., to face Army and West Virginia next weekend.
