The season has just begun and what a great two weeks it has been! We were able to play away from the cold weather in Boca Raton, Florida this past weekend. I was very excited to end the tournament with a great come from behind victory against Maryland. Becky Nye held them to only one run and my roommate Corrine Doornberg got the walk-off hit in the bottom of the 7th inning. Sadly, we had to leave the 70-degree weather and come back to 32 degrees. Even though the weather is a bit chilly, our team is pumped up to play our first home series this weekend! Recently, our team visited St. Jude hospital and "adopted" our new friend Haley, as a member of our softball team! She will be at one of our games this weekend to throw out the first pitch which the whole team cannot wait for! I hope many of you can come out this weekend and support us while we take on four competitors. Other than softball, I am trying to catch up with my school work and make up tests that I have missed. This Wednesday night at the men'ss basketball game, all of the scholar-athletes were recognized at halftime for their academic achievements. Even though this spring I am very busy with school and softball, I hope to maintain my grades and remain on the Honor Roll. Well fans, I hope to see ya'll at the games this season. We have many home series and we love to have big crowds support us while we compete in the best conference in the nation! HOTTY TODDY!!
