OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's golf team will participate in the Tiger-Wave Golf Classic this weekend at the English Turn Golf Club in New Orleans, La. The three-day tournament is hosted by LSU and Tulane.

The elite 23-team field includes 11 teams ranked in the top 30, including No. 2 Auburn, No. 5 Purdue, No. 7 Alabama and No. 10 Wake Forest.

Ole Miss is coming off a seventh place finish at the Kinderlou Challenge in the first tournament of the spring. Senior Sara Grantham and sophomore Haley Millsap both earned top 20 finishes to lead the Rebels. Grantham leads the team with a 74.73 stroke average.

Joining Grantham and Millsap in New Orleans will be junior Jillian Brodd and sophomores Natalie Gleadall and Ashley Lance.

"We had a great week of practice in preparation for playing at English Turn this weekend," head coach Michele Drinkard said. "I have heard English turn has a lot of 'L' shaped greens so we will need to be precise with our carry distance and know when it is appropriate to shoot at pins. Wind will also be an element on this open course as well. The players are ready, and we are looking forward to the challenge of the golf course."

The first round begins Friday at 8:00 a.m., with the Rebels teeing off at 9:40 a.m. The tournament will feature live scoring, which can be accessed by going to www.OleMissSports.com and clicking on the link in the Rebel Hub.
