Brittney Reese Wins World Indoor Long Jump Title

DOHA, Qatar - Former Ole Miss All-American Brittney Reese celebrated another major title Sunday by winning the World Indoor Track and Field Championship women's long jump with a distance of 21-11.75.

Reese is also the current 2009 World Outdoor Champion after winning that title last summer in Berlin. The Gulfport, Miss., native turned in the farthest jump in the world for 2009 with a distance of 23-03.50.

Last weekend in Albuquerque N.M., Reese won her second consecutive US Indoor long jump title with a mark of 22-07.25. Her victory secured her spot on the 2010 US World Indoor team.

Reese was a three-time NCAA champion and a 2008 Olympian during her two years at Ole Miss.
