3/31/2026 | Track and Field
NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss men's track & field has tied the overall program record with a No. 5 national ranking to open the outdoor season, as per the USTFCCCA's Track & Field Rating Index released on Tuesday morning.
The No. 5 slot is the best ever for the Rebel men outdoors, beating a previous top ranking of No. 7 in Week One of the 2024 season. Overall, it ties with the Ole Miss men's No. 5 ranking indoors in Week One of the 2023 season, as well as a No. 5 slot by the Rebel women in Week Two of the 2024 outdoor season.
Of the 41 total top-10 rankings in Ole Miss track & field history, 11th-year head coach Connie Price-Smith owns 38 of them (11 men, 27 women). In the outdoor season, she owns 15 of 17 total top-10 slots (2 men, 13 women), while indoors she owns 23 (9 men, 14 women). In total, Price-Smith has tallied 74 of the 138 outdoor rankings appearances in combined program history (27 men, 47 women).
The USTFCCCA's Track & Field Rating Index is a computer rating system which uses an algorithm that emphasizes individual performances, assigning a point value to each individual mark that contributes to a team total to assess its national ranking.
Ole Miss track & field returns to action this week, with the distance squad heading to the Stanford Invite, while the remainder of the team heads to LSU for the Battle on the Bayou.
