Robertson Tabbed SEC Freshman Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss freshman jumper Ricky Robertson has been selected as the SEC Track and Field Freshman of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday.
Robertson set a new school record and won the high jump with a height of 7-02.50 Saturday afternoon at the Rhodes Invitational. The Hernanado, Miss., native currently ranks first in the nation in the high jump.
His new mark surpassed the previous school record of 7-01.50 set by Marcus Jones in 1999.
"We are very excited about Ricky's selection as the SEC Freshman of the Week," Ole Miss head coach Joe Walker said. "He had a very strong indoor season and has picked up right where he left of to begin the outdoor season. He is having a phenomenal freshman year."
Robertson also took second in the long jump with a distance of 22-05.25.
Ole Miss returns to action Thursday at 9:30 a.m. when the Rebels travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take part in the Alabama Relays.
