Women's Golf Struggles On Day One At Liz Murphey

ATHENS, Ga. - The Ole Miss women's golf team struggled on day one of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Friday, shooting a 327 to stand in 20th place in the 23-team field.
Fourth-ranked Duke leads the field with a 300. Players encountered challenging conditions early in the day at the UGA Golf Course. Temperatures, which began in the 50s, rose to the mid-60s by mid-afternoon, and the wind remained a factor throughout, gusting at times over 20 mph.
Ole Miss was not alone in its struggles. In a field full of Top 20 teams, no squad approached the 300 mark. Three teams North Carolina, Purdue and Auburn trail the Blue Devils in second place, 10 shots off the pace.
Sophomore Haley Millsap had the low round for the Rebels, with a 79.
