Rebel Track And Field Ranked In Latest USTFCCCA Poll

OXFORD, Miss. - Following a strong showing last weekend at the Ole Miss Invitational, the Ole Miss track and field teams remained ranked in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.
The men's team enters the weekend ranked 17th in the country and features a pair of athletes ranked first in the NCAA in their respective events. Freshman Ricky Robertson stands first in the country in the high jump with a top mark of 7-05.75, which also ranks him tied for second in the world.
Junior sprinter Lee Ellis Moore set a new school record in the 400 meter hurdles Saturday and moved into first in the nation and fifth in the world in the event with a mark of 49.52. Carson Blanks is ranked 12th in the NCAA in the event with his top time of 50.87 he turned in Saturday.
Brian Knight stands tied for second in the NCAA and is also tied for fifth in the world in the high jump with a top mark of 7-04.50 that he posted at the Florida Relays. Distance runner Martin Kirui ranks fifth in the country and 16th in the world in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a top mark of 8:51.29.
Junior sprinter Jonathan Juin is ranked eighth in the nation in the 100 meters with a top time of 10.28, while also standing 17th in the country in the 200 meters with a mark of 20.90. Freshman Mike Granger ranks 30th in the 100 meters with a top time of 10.44. The 4x400 meter relay team of Blanks, Juin, Matt Daniels and Moore ranks 24th in the nation.
Senior Colin Moleton is ranked 23rd in the country in the javelin throw following a top mark of 222-01.00 he posted at the Ole Miss Invitational.
The women's team moved up one spot in this week's poll and is currently ranked 30th in the nation. Sofie Persson is ranked ninth in the nation in the 400 meters with a time of 53.42, 16th in the 400 meter hurdles with a mark of (58.33) and also runs the final leg for the 4x400 meter relay team that ranks 15th in the nation.
Junior LaJada Baldwin stands 12th in the nation in the 400 meters with a mark of 53.57, 17th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.53 and 24th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.76. She also runs the first leg for the 4x400 meter relay team that ranks 15th in the nation and the final leg of the 4x100 meter relay that ranks 23rd in the country.
Junior Betty Williams ranks 10th in the nation in the shot put with a top mark of 53-05.75 she recorded earlier in the year at the Florida Relays. Freshman Brittany Bozeman is ranked 15th in the NCAA in the heptathlon.
