Rebels Up To No. 14 In Latest USTFCCCA Poll

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's track and field team moved up three spots from last week and is currently ranked 14th in the nation in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.

Five different members of the men's team captured individual titles last weekend at the LSU Alumni Gold Meet and Ole Miss now features nine athletes ranked in the top-30 in the nation.

Junior sprinter Jonathan Juin is ranked 11th in the NCAA in both the 100 meters and 200 meters with respective top times of 10.28 and 20.73. Freshman Mike Granger is ranked 16th in the country in the 100 meters with a top time of 10.34.

Junior Lee Ellis Moore is ranked second in the NCAA with a top time of 49.52, while sophomore Carson Blanks is 14th in the country with a mark of 50.87.

Distance runner Barnabas Kirui is ranked third in the nation in the 3000 meter steeplechase after turning in a time of 8:43.72 last weekend at LSU. Not far behind, Martin Kirui stands 14th in the NCAA with his top time of 8:51.29.

In field events, freshman Ricky Robertson is ranked No. 1 in the nation in the high jump with a top height of 7-05.75. Sophomore Brian Knight is two spots behind at third in the NCAA with a top mark of 7-04.50.

Senior thrower Colin Moleton stands 28th in the nation in the javelin throw with a top distance of 222-01.00.

The women's team enters the weekend 31st in the nation and features a total of five athletes ranked in their respective events.

Junior sprinter LaJada Baldwin is ranked ninth in the nation in the 400 meters with a top time of 52.98. Baldwin is also ranked 28th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.53.

Sofie Persson is ranked 18th in both the 400 meters and 400 meter hurdles, owning a top time of 53.41 in the 400 meters and 58.33 in the 400 meter hurdles.

Junior Betty Williams is 10th in the NCAA in the shot put with a distance of 53-05.75, while senior Davina Orieukwu stands 18th with her top mark of 52-00.00.

Freshman Brittany Bozeman is 27th in the country in the heptathlon after picking up a total of 5,052 points earlier this season at the Ole Miss Invitational.

Ole Miss returns to action Thursday when the Rebels begin competition at the prestigious Drake Relays from Des Moines, Iowa.
