Rebels Travel To Arkansas

OXFORD, Miss. - After hosting the Auburn Tigers in Oxford last weekend, the Ole Miss softball team will once again hit the road this week with the Rebels traveling to Arkansas to face off against Central Arkansas on Thursday before heading to Fayetteville, Ark. for a three-game SEC series against western-division foe Arkansas.
Ole Miss will take on the Bears of Central Arkansas in the Rebels' final non-conference game of the season on Thursday at 6 p.m. The Rebels and the Razorbacks will play a double header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and conclude the series on Sunday at 2 p.m. Saturday's first game will be televised by Cox Sports with Blair Cartwright and Nicki Collen calling the action.
The Rebels have already played Central Arkansas this season defeating the Bears 7-6 on March 6 in Oxford. Ole Miss owns a perfect 4-0 record all-time against UCA. Sophomore Kasey Britt leads Central Arkansas with a .349 batting average and Melanie Bryant has hit a team-best 10 homers. In the circle, Kelsie Armstrong leads the squad with a 15-13 record and a 2.76 ERA.
Arkansas enters the weekend set with a 25-24 record on the season and an 8-14 mark in the SEC. Senior Jessica Bachkora leads the Razorbacks with a .371 batting average and 13 home runs, while Sandra Smith has posted a team-high 45 RBI this year. Hope McLemore leads the team in the circle with a 12-9 record and a 2.76 ERA in 129.1 innings pitched.
The Razorbacks lead the all-time series 27-16, but the Rebels have won six of the last eight meeting including three straight series wins.
