NOTING POMERANZ:
Pomeranz enters the weekend coming off a victory over Tennessee last week that pushed his record to 5-0 in 2010. The junior southpaw has posted an SEC leading 65 strikeouts on the season and leads the conference by limiting his opponents to a .178 batting average against on the year. The left-hander also holds a 1.65 ERA on the year, third best in the league by a slim margin as the league leader holds a 1.60 ERA on the year. The junior has walked only 17 batters on the season in his 43.2 innings of work and allowed only eight earned runs through seven games.

NOTING BARRETT:
Barrett enters the weekend coming off his first loss of the season in the outing against Tennessee, but holds to a 6-1 record and leads the Southeastern Conference in wins. The right-hander is second in the SEC in strikeouts behind teammate Drew Pomeanz with 53 and is also in the top 10 in the league in ERA (2.22 - 6th) and opposing batting average (.217 - 7th). In his team-leading 44.2 innings of work, Barrett has allowed only 11 earned runs and walked only 18 batters.

REBELS IN THE RANKINGS:
For the sixth straight season Ole Miss opened the year ranked in the preseason polls. Currently, the Rebels are ranked as high as 15th (Baseball America) and appear in the rankings of all of five of the major college baseball polls. The Rebels were ranked 11th nationally the week of March 28-April 4 before dropping a weekend series to Tennessee - the highest ranking of the season for the Rebels.

A LOOK AT GEORGIA:
The Bulldogs of Georgia enter the weekend series coming off a pair of losses to #16 Clemson in a mid-week series and a series loss at #2 LSU last weekend. The Bulldogs are led at the plate by Zach Cone who is batting at a .371 clip with a team-leading six home runs and 28 RBI. As a team, Georgia is batting .291 with 29 home runs and 170 RBI. The Bulldogs pitching staff holds an 8.62 ERA and is led by Friday night starter Justin Grimm. Grimm is 2-3 on the season with a 4.46 ERA to go along with 35 strikeouts and 17 walks. The Bulldogs have struck out 222 batters and walked 146 in 2010. Georgia has allowed 240 earned runs on 345 hits.

REBELS VS. GEORGIA:
Ole Miss and Georgia have faced-off a total of 62 times in the history of the programs and are 31-31 in those meetings. Last season, the two teams held true to the series record, going 2-2 on the year with the Rebels taking the weekend series in Oxford 2-1 but dropping the opening round contest in the SEC Tournament.

REBELS ON THE ROAD:
Ole Miss has done something that's tough to do, and that's win more than they lose on the road under head coach Mike Bianco. The Rebels are 94-90 in road contests under Bianco for a .511 winning percentage in games played on an opponent's field.

HIT STREAKS ON THE LINE:
Ole Miss has several players boasting hit streaks currently, but none longer than junior Matt Smith. Smith currently holds a season-long 14 game hitting streak. Also holding hit streaks are Tim Ferguson (9), Matt Snyder (5), Miles Hamblin (3), Taylor Hightower (3), Zach Miller (2) and Mike Snyder (2).
