Mississippi Open Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

OXFORD, Miss. - Due to inclement weather in and around the Oxford area, the 2010 Mississippi Open was cancelled after the completion of just five events.
In the only meet finished on the men's side, Rebel junior Martin Kirui finished in third place in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:25.10. Jordan Michael took sixth place following a mark of 16:05.22.
On the women's side, Anna Adams placed 10th in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:36.04.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Lor'Rena De'Jurnett, Kristin Bridges, Jasmine Williams and LaJada Baldwin won the race with a time of 45.45.
Freshman Jazmin Miller finished in fifth place in the hammer throw with a distance of 157-00.00, while sophomore Christiana Coleman took ninth with a mark of 152-01.00.
Freshman Brittany Bozeman placed sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 133-07.00, while fellow freshman Neal Tisher was next in seventh with a distance of 120-11.00.
Ole Miss returns to action May 13-16 when the Rebels travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to take part in the SEC Championships.
