MIRAMAR, Fla. -
Ole Miss rising sophomore Ricky Robertson continued his outstanding track and field season by finishing second in the high jump at the 2010 NACAC Under-23 Championships on Sunday.
Robertson finished runner-up to fellow All-American Paul Hamilton of Nebraska. Both of them leaped 7-03.75, but Hamilton took the title in a jump-off.
A native of Hernando, Miss., Robertson was one of a select group of 78 U.S. track and field athletes chosen to compete in the NACAC U-23 Championships, which are held every two years in one of the 32 member nations of the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association, one of six regional athletics associations affiliated with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
He caps a strong season which saw him earn All-America honors with a fifth-place high jump finish in the NCAA Championships and 2010 Southeastern Conference Freshman Field Athlete of the Year accolades after claiming the SEC title in the high jump.
Later this month, another Rebel will represent Team USA when rising sophomore Mike Granger competes in the 100-meter dash and 4x100 meter relay at the IAAF World Junior Championships July 19-25 in Moncton, Canada.
