OXFORD, Miss. - Right-hander Brett Huber picked up his third post-season honor when he was named a second team Freshman All-America selection by Baseball America, the publication announced on Wednesday.

Huber is the fifth Rebel to garner Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America, joining former Rebels Seth Smith (2002), Alex Presley (2004), Zach Miller (2007) and Cody Satterwhite (2007) to be selected by the magazine. Huber was also named a Freshman All-America selection by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association.

He is the eighth Rebel to receive Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball. He joins pitchers Adam Yates (2001), Cody Satterwhite (2006) and Drew Pomeranz (2008), along with two-way player Stephen Head (2003) as players who have taken the mound for Ole Miss and been named to the Freshman All-America team by the publication.

The right-handed reliever also picked up All-SEC honors from the league's coaches when he was named a second team All-SEC selection and was named to the All-Freshman team.

Huber turned in a stellar first season on the mound for the Rebels, posting 12 saves and a 2-0 record on the year to help Ole Miss advance to an eighth consecutive NCAA Regional and make an appearance in at least the semifinals of the SEC Tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

Eleven of the freshman's 12 saves this season came against Southeastern Conference competition as he finished second on the single-season saves list behind Stephen Head (13 - 2003). His lone save against a non-conference foe came at Arkansas State.

Huber picked up seven saves on the road, two at neutral sites and three in the friendly confines of Oxford-University Stadium. His road saves came at No. 20 Kentucky, Georgia, No. 5 South Carolina, two at Mississippi State, at Arkansas State and at Alabama. The 6-2 hurler picked up neutral site saves against No. 7 South Carolina and No. 13 Auburn at the Southeastern Conference Tournament, while snagging saves at home against No. 2 Florida, No. 5 LSU and No. 9 Arkansas.

For the year, Huber posted a 3.54 ERA with 54 strikeouts and 19 walks while holding batters to a .216 batting average against in 48.1 innings of work. He also made a team-high 30 appearances, the most relief appearances in a single season by a Rebel pitcher and tied for the most total appearances in a single-season with Cooper Campbell from the 1999 season.
