Ole Miss Softball Signee Featured On ESPN Rise

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss softball signee Taylor Cantillo and her fellow teammates on the SoCal Athletics club team recently claimed the ESPN RISE National Softball Championship in Irvine, Calif.
Cantillo, an incoming freshman for the Rebels, helped her squad defeat the Texas Impact Gold from Houston 4-2 in the championship game which was televised live on ESPNU.
A native of in Tustin, Calif., Cantillo earned second team all-state honors as a junior and a senior at Foothills High School. She posted a .437 batting average, four home runs and 21 runs scored as a junior and helped lead the Knights to the 2009 Sea View League championship. As a senior, she batted .311 and knocked in 16 runs. An outfielder, Cantillo also earned first team All-Country honors from the Orange Country Register and second team All-CIF Division I honors from the CIF-SS Softball Coaches' Association as a junior and a senior.
