OXFORD, Miss. - Twelve games against teams that reached the postseason last year, the Magnolia Classic and eight conference home games highlight the 2010-11 Ole Miss women's basketball schedule, announced by head coach Renee Ladner on Wednesday.

"With six incoming freshmen, you want to put together a schedule that is both challenging as well as exciting and I feel that we have done that," said Ladner, who is in her fourth season as head coach of the Rebels.

The Rebels will host a total of 15 regular-season games in Oxford after welcoming West Georgia in an exhibition game on Nov. 4. Following that game, the Rebels will open the regular season Nov. 12 by hosting the Magnolia Classic featuring a field of in-state foe Jackson State, Sam Houston State and Southeast Missouri. The Rebels will face off against Jackson State on the 12th at 11 a.m. in the annual School Day game with the championship and consolation rounds taking place on the 13th. Ole Miss closes out its November home schedule with a game against PAC-10 foe Arizona on the 18th and Nicholls State on the 20th.

Ole Miss hits the road thereafter to take part in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu, Hawaii Nov. 26-28. The Rebels will take on Gonzaga on Nov. 26 in a field that also includes Cal State Long Beach, Hawaii, Illinois, North Carolina, North Carolina Central and Washington State.

"At the Waikiki Beach Showdown we have the possibility of playing against ACC power, North Carolina, Illinois out of the Big Ten and a very dangerous Gonzaga team from the West Coast Conference," said Ladner. "Our non-conference home schedule includes two more power-conference opponents in Arizona, out of the PAC-10, and Miami from the ACC."

The Rebels will travel to Mobile, Ala., to square off against South Alabama on Dec. 5 before returning to Oxford for a pair of home games against Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 11 and Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 15. Ole Miss will travel to Central Michigan on the 18th before heading back for the final home game of December against Miami (Fla.) on Dec. 21. After a short Christmas break, Ole Miss will head to Jersey City, N.J. for the St. Peter's College Holiday Classic Dec. 29-30 to wrap up the Rebels non-conference schedule. The field also includes Central Connecticut State, Samford and the host school St. Peter's.

"Playing in the St. Peter's Tournament will give us a chance to travel to the New York/New Jersey area and have a chance to play against Samford, who eliminated us from the WNIT last season," Ladner said.

Ole Miss opens its SEC schedule at home on Jan. 2 against Vanderbilt, who advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen last year. The Rebels will also welcome in-conference foes South Carolina (Jan. 16), Kentucky (Jan. 27), LSU (Feb. 6), Mississippi State (Feb. 10), Georgia (Feb. 13) Arkansas (Feb. 17) and defending SEC Champion Tennessee (Feb. 24).

The Rebels also play six of their first nine conference games on the road, beginning with a visit to the Lady Vols on Jan. 9. Other road games include Auburn (Jan. 13), LSU (Jan. 20), Arkansas (Jan. 23), Vanderbilt (Jan. 30), Florida (Feb. 3), Alabama (Feb. 20) and Mississippi State (Feb. 27).

"Our SEC schedule includes home and away games against Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Arkansas. Also, playing six of our first nine conference games on the road will be a challenge, Ladner said."
