Assistant Coach Armintie Price To Play In WNBA Finals

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss assistant women's basketball coach and Atlanta Dream guard Armintie Price will begin play in the WNBA Finals Sunday against the Seattle Storm.
Game 1 of the best-of-five game series will be played on Sunday at Key Arena in Seattle, Wash., and will be televised nationally at 2 p.m. CT on ABC.
The Dream clinched the Eastern Conference Championship defeating the Washington Mystics in the conference semi-finals and beating the Ney York Liberty in the conference finals. Atlanta, a four-seed, will face top-seeded Seattle in the finals and will look to become the first four-seed to win a WNBA championship.
"I am very, very excited. It's an amazing feeling to be playing in the WNBA Finals and at the same time to be an assistant coach for Ole Miss," Price said after practice on Friday. "God has blessed me both at Ole Miss and now with the Atlanta Dream and I'm very thankful for these opportunities. I'm planning for the Dream to take it all the way."
This season, Price has played in 34 games for the Dream, averaging 16.5 minutes per game. She is averaging 4.9 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game.
This will be Atlanta's first appearance in the WNBA Finals and the Dream enters the Finals with a 4-0 postseason record.
Price played at Ole Miss from 2003-07 and is currently entering her second season as an assistant coach with the Rebels. She was the third overall draft pick in the 2007 WNBA draft and was named the WNBA's 2007 Rookie of the Year.
Former Ole Miss head women's basketball coach Carol Ross is in her second year as an assistant coach with the Dream.
