OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's and women's cross country teams will return to the course this Saturday when they travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Crimson Classic.

The women's team is led by senior Logan Waites, who has already captured two individual titles in her three races so far this season, and one other top 10 finish. Junior Katie Breathitt has also had a strong season for the Rebel women, who moved up nine places from No. 14 to No. 5 in the South Region in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.

The Ole Miss women captured the team title at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic and the Delaware Invitational before finishing a strong third, and as the top Southeastern Conference team, in the competitive Greater Louisville Classic their last time out.

The men, who fell one spot to No. 9 in the South Region in this week's USTFCCCA poll, are led by senior Martin Kirui and sophomore Kipchirchir Kiptoo. The men's team finished second at the Crimson Classic last season, losing only to host school Alabama, and returns three of the top five from last year's runner-up team.

The meet will be held at Harry Pritchett Running Park, which will play host to this year's NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championship on Nov. 12 for the second time in three years. The course is on the old university golf course and features an ideal mix of hills and flat sections, woods and open areas.

Among the schools slated to race against the Rebels are SEC opponents Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee.

The men's 8K race begins at 8:30 a.m. CT and is followed immediately by the women's 5K race at 9:10 a.m. CT.
