FRIDAY FLASHBACK rewinds to some of the memorable Ole Miss games from this week's all-time series. This week features the Rebels' controversial win over Arkansas in 1914.

Ole Miss and Arkansas will meet for the 58th time on Saturday and that's about the only thing the two teams can agree upon. According to Ole Miss record books, the Rebels trail 26-30-1 in a series which begin in 1908, while Arkansas claims a 31-25-1 advantage. The dispute arises from the 1914 meeting in Little Rock, which the Rebels won 13-7. However, the Razorbacks charged Ole Miss with using an ineligible player, a charge the Rebels denied, and claimed a forfeit victory. With no one to arbitrate the dispute, the two schools stood their ground and today the series record remains a matter of debate. Below is account of the 1914 contest as it appeared in the Nov. 14, 1914 Memphis Commercial Appeal.

MISSISSIPPI DOWNS ARKANSAS ELEVEN

-Razorbacks Beatan on Little Rock Field, 13 to 7.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Nov. 13 - "Ole Miss" outplayed Arkansas at all points of a football game, and won, 13 to 7, in the contest staged at West End Park this afternoon.

Driver's men uncovered an attack, built around smiling Joe Evans, which the Razorbacks could not fathom, and it was not until the last few minutes of play that the Pickering machine was able to count on its rivals.

The Mississippi machine came through the game in good shape, and will have all of the first string available for the Texas game. Coach Driver left tonight with the squad for Austin, where on Tuesday Texas University will be met.
