TEMPE, Ariz. - Erinn Jayjohn smashed her first career grand slam and Lindsey Perry struck out four batters in five innings, as Ole Miss routed Cal State Bakersfield 9-1 at the Kajikawa Classic on Saturday.

Jayjohn's grand slam was also her first career home run and sparked a seven-run fourth that gave the Rebels the lead for good. She finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBI.

Perry picked up the complete-game win after allowing just one run on only three hits in five innings of work. She fanned four and issued three walks.

"The girls played really well today," said Ole Miss head coach Missy Dickerson. "We have done a good job the past two games of changing our mental mindset and today's win is a great confidence builder."

The Roadrunners took an early 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI double to left center by centerfielder Stafanie Frei.

The Rebels responded in the fourth with a seven-run outburst, highlighted by Jayjohn's grand slam. Freshman third baseman Londen Ladner led off the top of the frame with a double off the wall in left center. Fellow freshman Marina Parra was then hit by a pitch to give Ole Miss runners on first and second and Amanda Hutcheson reached on a bunt single to load the bases with no outs to set up Jayjohn's blast. With the bases now empty, second baseman Corrine Doornberg and centerfielder RT Cantillo reached on back-to-back bunt singles with one out and designated player Brittany Barnhill laced a single up the middle to plate Doornberg and Cantillo. Ladner, who led off the inning, then reached on a fielding error by CSB shortstop Amy Ricciardi and was followed by Parra who reached on an infield single that allowed Barnhill to score all the way from second to give Ole Miss a 7-1 lead.

Jayjohn started the top of the fifth with a single to left center and moved into scoring position on Brittany Broome's single up the middle. Doornberg then moved both runners up with a sac bunt and Cantillo squeezed pinch runner Becca Wall home to plate the Rebels' eighth run of the game. Barnhill closed out the inning with an RBI single to right that provided the final score of 9-1.

Barnhill went 2-for-4 with two singles and three RBI, while Cantillo added three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Doornberg also collected two hits and scored a run, as the Rebels posted a season-high 13 hits.

Next up, Ole Miss will travel to Tampa, Fla., on Friday to take part in the USF-Fairfield Inn & Suites Tournament hosted by South Florida. The Rebels will face Fordham and USF on Friday, UAB and DePaul on Saturday and Indiana on Sunday.
