CLEARWATER, Fla. - Senior Lindsey Perry allowed just two hits and two unearned runs in five innings of work, but UAB took advantage of Ole Miss miscues to claim a 3-0 win over the Rebels on day two at the USF-Fairfield Inn & Suites Tournament on Saturday. Ole Miss also dropped the nightcap 8-0 to host South Florida.

After a scoreless first two innings, UAB leadoff hitter Caley Walden doubled to start the bottom of the third and scored on a wild pitch after a passed ball moved her to third to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead after three.

The Rebels threatened in the top of the sixth after second baseman Corrine Doornberg singled with one out and moved to third on a sac bunt and a wild pitch. With two down, RT Cantillo walked to give Ole Miss runners on the corners, but third baseman Londen Ladner flew out to center to end the inning.

The Blazers added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on a pair of RBI doubles from Kayla Orr and Mandy Lowan that provided the final score of 3-0.

Doornberg led the Rebels at the plate with two hits in three at-bats, the only two hits Ole Miss collected in the game.

Perry struck out three in her five innings of work and Kendall Bruning entered in relief in the sixth and pitched the final inning. She allowed one run on two hits and struck out two.

South Florida scored runs in four-straight innings as the Bull knocked off Ole Miss 8-0 in six innings in game two on Saturday.

The Bulls grabbed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI single up the middle by Gina Kafalas and a two-run single to right from Kourtney Salvarola. USF added to its lead in the fourth with a Kelly McCarver RBI single and an RBI groundout by Courtney Goff that extended the lead to 6-0.

Salvarola added to the South Florida lead in the fifth with an RBI triple down the right field line and later scored on an RBI single by shortstop Janine Richardson that put the Bulls up 7-0. Salvarola's RBI single to left in the sixth ended the game at 8-0.

Kendall Bruning started for the Rebels and struck out five in three-plus innings of work. She gave up five runs on four hits in the losing effort. Brittany Barnhill entered in relief in the fourth and pitched the final 2.1 innings. She allowed three runs on four hits.

Ole Miss will close out the USF-Fairfield Inn & Suites Tournament tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. against Indiana.
