Rebel Track and Field Heads To Meyo Invitational

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss track and field teams continue their indoor season with competition at this weekend's Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame at the Loftus Center in South Bend, Ind.
The Rebel men are ranked No. 31 in the country in this week's USTFCCCA National Rankings, while the women come into the meet at No. 36.
Among the many teams competing at the Meyo Invitational are top-40 men's squads in No. 6 Indiana, No. 28 Iowa, No. 33 Alabama and No. 35 Illinois. Top-40 women's teams are No. 20 Indiana, No. 23 Louisville, No. 25 Ohio State, No. 34 Indiana State and No. 39 Southern Miss.
Ole Miss has three men ranked among the nation's top 20 in their respective events. Ricky Robertson ranks second nationally in the high jump with his school-record leap of 7-05.75 at the Arkansas State Invitational. Mike Granger ranks 11th in the 60 meters with a season-best time of 6.67, and Caleb Lee is 17th in the long jump with a season-best distance of 24-11.25.
Among Southeastern Conference athletes this year, Robertson has the top high jump mark and Granger has the second-fastest 60 meter time.
Sofie Persson leads the way for the Rebel women as she ranks among the nation's top 12 in two different events. The junior from Sweden is No. 10 nationally in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.32, which is third-best among SEC athletes. She ranks 12th in the 400 meters with a personal-best 53.93, which is also ranks third in the SEC. Neal Tisher is 17th nationally and third in the SEC with a school-record pole vault height of 13-3.75. Logan Waites' time of 17:40.52 in the 5,000 meters is the best among SEC female athletes this year.
The meet kicks off on Friday at 5 p.m. ET with field events, while running events start up at 6 p.m. Competition continues through Saturday evening.
